The Directive for pressure equipment sets essential requirements for the design and manufacture of "equipment subjected to high pressure" or "pressure equipment" that is subjected to a permissible PS overpressure greater than 0.5 bar or less than -0.5 bar.
The scope of application of the proposal for pressure equipment covers the following:
- pressure vessels;
- pipelines;
- assemblies;
- accessories.
The Directive pressure equipment will come into force 29th November 1999 and will have a transition period until 29th May 2002.
